Chinese learning Korean language(beginning level), who studied in Center for
Korea language & culture of Inje University, made mistakes in using Korean
grammar ‘reason’ and ‘purpose’. So we considered why they made the errors and
examined the reason of the errors in this paper.
For this purpose, we examined Korean dictionary and grammatic characteristics
of ‘-eoseo’(reason) and ‘-eureo’(purpose). And we examined learner's error on
contrastive linguistic perspective, cognitive difference, between Korean and
Chinese. ‘왜(Why)’ requires ‘reason’ and ‘purpose’ in Korean, but requires only
‘reason’ in Chinese.
Through these, we suggested developing efficient teaching-learning method for
accurate use of ‘-eoseo’ and ‘-eureo’. First, we argued accurate using ‘-eureo’ to
improve accuracy through using determinative question expression like ‘뭐 하러
(what~for~)’. Second, we argued step-by-step processes in practice. To begin with,
we proposed using grammar both ‘-eoseo’ and ‘-eureo’ all in order, after selecting
just one grammar between ‘-eoseo’ and ‘-eureo’ in context.
