muscular mitochondria by bio-active materials coated fabric (BMCF). To observe the effects, the fabric (10 and 30%) was worn to old-aged rat then the oxygen consumption efficiency and copy numbers of mitochondria, and mRNA expression of apoptosis- and mitophagy-related genes were verified. By wearing the BMCF, the oxidative respiration significantly increased when using the 30% materials coated fabric. The mitochondrial DNA copy number significantly decreased and subsequently recovered in a... -
Three-dimensional porous graphene materials for environmental applications
Muruganantham Rethinasabapathy, Sung-Min Kang, Sung-Chan Jang, Yun Suk Huh 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 13 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.22 1 1-13 (13 pages)
Porous materials play a vital role in science and technology. The ability to control their pore structures at the atomic, molecular, and nanometer scales enable interactions with atoms, ions and molecules to occur throughout the bulk of the material, for practical applications. Three-dimensional (3D) porous carbon-based materials (e.g., graphene aerogels/hydrogels, sponges and foams) made of graphene or graphene oxide-based networks have attracted considerable attention because they offer low... -

Katharine Roque, Kyung Min Shin, Ji Hoon Jo, Gyeong Dong Lim, Eun Seob Song, So Jung Shin, Ravi Gautam, Jae Hee Lee, Yeon Gyeong Kim, Ah 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2018, 제 19권 제 3호 2 331-338 (8 pages)
Indoor animal husbandry environments are inevitably contaminated with endotoxins. Endotoxin exposure is associated with various inflammatory illnesses in animals. This cross-sectional study evaluated the relationship between the degree of endotoxin exposure and the cellular and humoral immune profiles of fattening pigs. Blood samples were taken from the jugular vein of 47 pigs from ten pig farms in Korea. Whole blood cell counts and plasma immunoglobulin (Ig) classes were determined.... -

Here, we describe two dogs in which canine small intestinal submucosa (SIS) was implanted as a biomaterial scaffold during perineal herniorrhaphy. Both dogs had developed severe muscle weakness, unilaterally herniated rectal protrusions, and heart problems with potential anesthetic risks. Areas affected by the perineal hernia (PH) located between the internal obturator and external anal sphincter muscles were reconstructed with naive canine SIS sheets. In 12 months, post-operative complications... -

emphasized. In this context, we analyze the role of FDI in the export of India’s manufacturing sector by comparison of two industries, the textile and apparel industry, and the automobile industry. In the case of automobile industry, FDI was allowed in the early 1980s through joint venture with Japanese company in order to develop automobile industry and to enhance exports. Since then, India’s production and exports of automobile have significantly increased. Therefore, it shows that there is... -

16세기 지중해 교역의 쇠퇴와 대서양의 흥기에 대한 반론 제기
동국역사문화연구소 동국사학 2014, 제 56집 8 245-286 (42 pages)
Combining the New with the Old : Collecting Contemporary Korean Art at the Victoria& Albert Museum
The Korean collection at the V &A is probably better known for its Koryo celadons and Choson ceramics than for its late 20th century artifacts. Yet, the museum began acquiring contemporary Korean art already in 1991 when preparing for the opening of the Samsung Gallery of Korean Art. Since that time the collection has been growing on a yearly basis, and now amounts to around 100 objects of varying media. The following will discuss to which extent these objects hold a significant place within the... -

한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2017, Vol.24 13 97-102 (6 pages)
Graphite fibers are materials with a high specific modulus that have attracted much interest in the aerospace industry, but their high manufacturing cost and low yield are still problems that prevent their wide applications in practice. This paper presents a laser-based process for graphitization of carbon fiber (CF) and explores the effect of laser radiation on the microstructure of CF. The obtained Raman spectra indicate that the outer surface of CF evolves from turbostratic structures into a... -

Dyes are widely used in various industries including textile, cosmetic, paper, plastics, rubber, and coating, and their discharge into waterways causes serious environmental and health problems. Four different carbon nanostructures, graphene oxide, oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes, activated carbon and multi-walled carbon nanotubes, were used as adsorbents for the removal of Nile Blue A (NBA) dye from aqueous solution. The four carbon nanostructures were characterized by scanning electron... -

by various industries. This wastewater flows into rivers, pollutes water supplies, and can contaminate the drinking water supplied to people [1-3]. Powder or activated carbons are being widely used today to mitigate polluted water from industrial sources and contaminated supplies. To make up for the limitations of such materials, there has been strong interest in the use of activated carbon fibers (ACFs) as adsorbents, because they offer excellent adsorption performance and processability [4-6]. -

proposed and studied to remove greenhouse gases from the atmosphere and protect the environment [3,4]. Carbon-based materials for adsorption are an intriguing subject owing to their very high specific surface area, low weight, and elasticity [5,6]. Among various carbonaceous materials, graphene has attracted much attention from researchers for these reasons; consequently, this material has been empirically and theoretically investigated for possible applications, such as gas sensors [7-10]. -

Activated carbon was synthesized from coconut shells. The Brunauer, Emmett and Teller surface area of the synthesized activated carbon was found to be 1640 m2/g with a pore volume of 1.032 cm3/g. The average pore diameter of the activated carbon was found to be 2.52 nm. By applying the size-strain plot method to the X-ray diffraction data, the crystallite size and the crystal strain was determined to be 42.46 nm and 0.000489897, respectively, which indicate a perfect crystallite structure. The... -
