We investigated the role of Ca2 and protein kinases/phosphatases in the stimulatory effect of insulin on glucose transport. In isolated rat adipocytes, the simple omission of CaCl2 from the incubation medium significantly reduced, but did not abolish, insulin-stimulated 2-deoxy glucose (2-DG) uptake. To clarify the effect of extracellular ATP in cultured C6 glioma cells, ATP-induced cytosolic free calcium ([Ca2]i) mobilization and cell proliferation were investigated. In this report, the inhibitory action of eupatilin was investgated by using leukotriene D4 in the human neutrophils and Kato III cells (Gastric adenoma cells as a substitute for gastric mucosal cells) stimulated by Helicobacter pylori.
