emotional support in an online breast cancer support group. The data used in the analysis resulted from merging computer-aided content analysis of discussion posts, action log data analysis of system usage, and longitudinal survey data collected from 237 participants in an online breast cancer support group. Findings indicated that the expression and reception of emotional support buffered the deleterious effect of unsupportive intimate relationship on breast cancer patients’ coping strategies.
