The effect of Acibenzolar-S-methyl (ASM) and Rahnella aquatilis Ra39 against apple fire blight disease caused by Erwinia amylovora were tested as a possible alternative to streptomycin. In vitro studies, no inhibition effect against the pathogen was found when ASM was tested. An antifungal compound, KS-1 with slight inhibitory activity of radish seed germination at 1,000 ppm and a seed germination inhibitory compound, KS-2 without suppression of fungal growth were produced simultaneously in TSB.
