2017년 9월 충남 예산지역의 아욱 잎에서 엽맥퇴록 및 황화등 바이러스 증상 관찰되었다. 증상이 있는 아욱 5주에서 핵산을 추출하여 아욱엽맥투명바이러스(Malva vein clearing virus, MVCV)를 포함한 4종 바이러스 특이 프라이머를 이용하여 reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction 수행하였다.
