Bratislav Dejanovic, Ivana Stevanovic, Milica Ninkovic, Ivana Stojanovic, Irena Lavrnja, Tatjana Radicevic, Milos Pavlovic 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2016, 제 17권 제 1호 7 53-61 (9 pages)
This study was conducted to investigate whether agmatine (AGM) provides protection against oxidative stress induced by treatment with chlorpromazine (CPZ) in Wistar rats. In addition, the role of reactive oxygen species and efficiency of antioxidant protection in the brain homogenates of forebrain cortexes prepared 48 h after treatment were investigated. Chlorpromazine was applied intraperitoneally (i.p.) in single dose of 38.7 mg/kg body weight (BW) The second group was treated with both CPZ... -
Comparative evaluation of phenobarbital-induced CYP3A and CYP2H1 gene expression by quantitative RT-PCR in Bantam, Bantamized White Leghorn and White Leghorn chicks

with phenobarbital at the dose rate of 12 mg/100 g (body weight) while the control group was treated with the saline. Total RNA was extracted from the liver samples using Tri Reagent based method. First strand cDNA was synthesized using one step RT-PCR kit. The PCR was performed and the product was subjected to agarose gel electrophoresis. Quantitative RT-PCR was conducted to quantify gene expression level of CYP3A and CYP2H1 genes. Relative expression ratio of CYP3A and CYP2H1 genes was... -
Taxifolin Glycoside Blocks Human ether-a-go-go Related Gene K+ Channels

Taxifolin glycoside is a new drug candidate for the treatment of atopic dermatitis (AD). Many drugs cause side effects such as long QT syndrome by blocking the human ether-a-go-go related gene (hERG) K+ channels. To determine whether taxifolin glycoside would block hERG K+ channels, we recorded hERG K+ currents using a whole-cell patch clamp technique. We found that taxifolin glycoside directly blocked hERG K+ current in a concentration-dependent manner (EC50=9.6±0.7ՌM). The activation... -
Stretch-activated K+ Channels in Rat Atrial Myocytes
JaeBoumYoum 대한생리학회-대한약리학회 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 8 Pages
대한생리학회-대한약리학회 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 2003, Vol.7 No.6 8 341-318 (8 pages)
Mechanical stimuli to the cardiac myocytes initiate many biochemical and physiological events. Stretch-activated cation channels have been suggested to mediate these events. In this study, cell-attached and inside-out excised-patch clamp methods were used to identify stretch-activated cation channels in adult rat atrial myocytes. Channel openings were increased in cell-attached configuration when negative pressure was applied to the pipette, and also in inside-out excised patches by negative... -
Tissue-Specific Regulation of Angiotensinogen and Angiotensin II Receptor Gene Expression in Deoxycorticosterone Acetate-Salt Hypertensive Rats
JongUnLeeMiRaAn 대한생리학회-대한약리학회 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 6 Pages
대한생리학회-대한약리학회 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 1999, Vol.3 No.3 9 315-320 (6 pages)
Molecular regulation of the renin-angiotensin system (RAS) was investigated in deoxycorticosterone acetate (DOCA)-salt hypertension. The expression of renin, angiotensinogen and angiotensin II receptor genes in the kidney and liver was determined by Northern blot analysis in rats which were made DOCA-salt hypertensive over the period of 2 or 4 weeks. Along with the hypertension, renin mRNA was decreased in the remnant kidney. The expression of angiotensinogen gene was not significantly altered... -
Thiobenzamide S-oxidation in Perfused Rat Liver Ex Vivo Determination of Hepatic Flavin-Containing Monooxygenase Activity
Woon-GyeChung, Hyung-KeunRoh, Young-NamCha 대한생리학회-대한약리학회 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 5 Pages
대한생리학회-대한약리학회 The Korean Journal of Physiology & Pharmacology 1997, Vol.1 No.5 15 591-595 (5 pages)
An ex vivo assay determining the flavin-containing monooxygenase (FMO) activity in perfused rat liver has been developed by assessing the rate of thiobenzamide S-oxide (TBSO) formation from the infused thiobenzamide (TB). The hepatotoxicity by TB or TBSO was not a critical factor for maintaining the FMO activity for up to 50 min. The FMO activity expressed in nmoles TBSO produced/g liver/min was the same for the recycling and non-recycling perfusion. This implies that reduction of the oxidized... -
Stress Tolerance and Virulence-Related Roles of Lipopolysaccharide in Burkholderia glumae

operon, were not significantly different from the wild-type except in slight decrease in swimming and swarming motility with wbiH deletion. Altogether, the results of present study indicated that the LPS, particularly the core OS region, is required for tolerance to environmental stress and full virulence in B. glumae. To our knowledge, this is the first functional study of LPS in a plant pathogenic Burkholderia sp. and presents a step forward toward full understanding of B. glumae pathogenesis. -
Sorption behavior of slightly reduced, three-dimensionally macroporous graphene oxides for physical loading of oils and organic solvents
Ho Seok Park, Sung Oong Kang 한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 6 Pages
한국탄소학회 Carbon Letters 2016, Vol.18 4 24-29 (6 pages)
High pollutant-loading capacities (up to 319 times its own weight) are achieved by three-dimensional (3D) macroporous, slightly reduced graphene oxide (srGO) sorbents, which are prepared through ice-templating and consecutive thermal reduction. The reduction of the srGO is readily controlled by heating time under a mild condition (at 1 10?2 Torr and 200°C). The saturated sorption capacity of the hydrophilic srGO sorbent (thermally reduced for 1 h) could not be improved further even though the...
