Diagnosis of Helicobacter spp. infection in canine stomach
W. Prachasilpchai, S. Nuanualsuwan, T. Chatsuwan, S. Techangamsuwan, S. Wangnaitham, A. Sailasuta 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2007, 제 8권 제 2호 6 139-145 (7 pages)
no relationships between pathological studies using H&E, WSS, and IHC, and especially between PCR and clinical signs of Helicobacter spp. infections in canine stomachs (p > 0.05). The present study revealed significantly different levels of correlation for Helicobacter spp. detection between H&E and WSS (p < 0.001). Results indicate that the method of choice for diagnosis of Helicobacter spp. infection in canine stomach is dependent on the purpose of study and appropriate specimen collection. -
Diversity of swine Bordetella bronchiseptica isolates evaluated by RAPD analysis and PFGE
Eun-Kyung Shin, Yeon-Soo Seo, Jeong Hee Han, Tae-Wook Hahn 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 9 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2007, 제 8권 제 1호 10 65-73 (9 pages)
RAPD pattern was produced by OPA- 07 which was shared by 32 isolates (71.1%), the pattern produced by OPA-08 was shared by 26 isolates (57.8%), and the pattern produced by OPA-18 was shared by 40 isolates (88.9%). The RAPD patterns of the vaccine strain and the 3 reference strains did not match any of the patterns produced by the field isolates when primers OPA-07 and OPA-08 were used. PFGE using the restriction endonuclease XbaI produced a total of 15 patterns consisting of 4 PFGE types (A, B,... -
Primary structure of mature SAG1 gene of an Indonesian Toxoplasma gondii and comparison with other strains
Sri Hartati, Asmarani Kusumawati, Hastari Wuryastuti, J. Sri Widada 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 8 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2006, 제 7권 제 3호 9 263-270 (8 pages)
published sequence data of 7 other strains or isolates. Sequence comparison indicated that SAG1 is highly conserved through evolution and despite parasite spreading world-wide. Sequences may be divided into two major families, independent of the strain/isolate geographic origin. Variations were mainly localized at the C-terminal half or domain 2 and some clustered in restricted areas. Sequence comparison allowed us to define the Indonesian isolate as genuine virulent RH strain. A phylogenetic... -
Random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains in India
J. P. N. Singh, Rishendra Verma, P. Chaudhuri 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2006, 제 7권 제 2호 15 181-187 (7 pages)
The usefulness of random amplification of polymorphic DNA (RAPD) analysis for typing Indian strains of M. tuberculosis was investigated. M. tuberculosis H37Rv, M. tuberculosis DT and 42 clinical isolates of M. tuberculosis were subjected to RAPD-PCR using 7 random decamer primers. All 7 primers were found to be differentiated and produced specific RAPD profiles. The polymorphic amplicons served as RAPD markers for M. tuberculosis. The dendrograms, obtained by different primers, showed the... -

test were also used as well as multiplex PCR- based method to simultaneously detect and confirm the pathogens involved in the infection.S.parauberis and L. garvieae have a target region of 700 and 1100 bp., respectively. One fish sample was not identified because of the difference in the different biochemical and serological tests and was negative in PCR assay. In the present study, it showed that S.parauberis was the dominant species that caused streptococcosis in the cultured diseased flounder. -

Eight major policies were implemented by Japanese Government since Oct.2001, to deal with bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE).These are;1)Surveillance in farm by veterinarian, 2)Prion test at healthy 1.3mi cows/yr, by veterinarian, 3)Elimination of specified risk material (SRM), 4)Ban of MBM for production, sale use, 5)Prion test for fallen stocks, 6)Transparent information and traceability, 7)New Measures such as Food Safety Basic Law, and 8)Establish of Food Safety Commission in the Cabinet... -

and five goats infected with FMDV O/SKR/2000 experimentally, positive results were obtained in two species after 10 days post infection (DPI). Therefore, we tried to develop and evaluate this ELISA based on 2C peptides. In comparison with the commercial NSP ELISA, the 2C peptide based ELISA method showed good specificity and sensitivity. These results demonstrate that the synthetic 2C peptide ELISA can be a complementary marker to differentiate FMDV-infected from vaccinated on a herd basis. -
Apoptosis in Vero cells infected with Akabane, Aino and Chuzan virus
Seong In Lim, Chang Hee Kweon, Dong Kun Yang, Dong Seob Tark, Jun Hun Kweon 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 4 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2005, 제 6권 제 3호 14 251-254 (4 pages)
Akabane, Aino and Chuzan virus are arthropod-borne (arbo)viruses mainly associated with reproductive failures in cattle. We investigated apoptosis in Vero cells (C-1586) infected with Akabane, Aino and Chuzan virus. The fragmentation of chromosomal DNA was simultaneously detected with the progress of cytopathic effect from 48 hr to 72 hr post infection, depending on viruses. Although the treatment of cycloheximide blocked apoptosis in Vero cells infected with three viruses, actinomycin D did not... -
Simultaneous detection of Lawsonia intracellularis, Brachyspira hyodysenteriae and Salmonella spp. in swine intestinal specimens by multiplex polymerase chain reaction
Dong Kyun Suh, Jae Chan Song 대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 7 Pages
대한수의학회 Journal of Veterinary Science 2005, 제 6권 제 3호 10 231-237 (7 pages)
A multiplex PCR assay was developed for the simultaneous detection of the etiologic agents associated with porcine proliferative enteropathies (PPE), swine dysentery (SD)and porcine salmonellosis (PS)in a single reaction using DNA from swine intestinal samples. Single and multiplex PCR amplification of DNA from Lawsonia intracellularis, Salmonella typhimurium and Brachyspira hyodysenteriae with each primer set produced fragments of the predicted size without any nonspecific amplification,... -
Prevalence of Brucella antibodies in sera of cows in Bangladesh

in Bangladesh Agricultural University Dairy Farm and adjacent villages, Bangladesh. The epidemiological history and blood was collected from the cows. The serum samples were subjected to Rose Bengal Test (RBT)and plate agglutination test (PAT)for initial screening of Brucella antibodies and the positive sera samples were then subjected to tube agglutination test (TAT)for further confirmation. The higher rate of Brucella antibody was recorded in rural farm (5.0%)than organized farm (2.5%)and in...
