Province, China each year. This outbreak has severely reduced the production of Chinese medicinal plants P. chinense and caused substantial economic losses. The bacterial isolate JKB05 was isolated from the healthy leaves of P. chinense, exhibited antagonistic effects against N. guilinensis and was identified as Bacillus megaterium. The following fermentation medium and conditions improved the inhibitory effect of B. megaterium JKB05 on N. guilinensis: 2% glucose, 0.1% soybean powder, 0.1% KCl,... -
Antagonistic Activity of Bacteria Isolated from Apple in Different Fruit Development Stages against Blue Mold Caused by Penicillium expansum

in fruit bioassays, the same strains reduced the fruit rot ranging from 12% to 66%. Moreover, the bacterial strains with antagonistic activity increased in the ripening fruit stage. B. subtilis subsp. spiziennii M24 obtained the highest antagonistic activity (66.9% of rot reduction). The matrix-assisted laser desorption ioniza- tion-time of flight mass spectrometry analysis revealed that bacteria with antagonistic activity produce anti- fungal lipopeptides from iturin and fengycin families. -
Research Articles : Diversity and Characterization of Endophytic Bacteria Associated with Tidal Flat Plants and their Antagonistic Effects on Oomycetous Plant Pathogens

to characterize and identify strains that were antagonistic to the oomycete plant pathogens Phytophthora capsici and Pythium ultimum from the total population. Nine percent of the total number of isolated bacteria exhibited in vitro inhibitory activity against target plant pathogenic oomycetes. Taxonomic and phylogenetic placement of the antagonistic bacteria was investigated by analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequences. The sequence analysis classified the antagonistic strains into four major... -
Biological Control of Gray Mold Rot of Perilla Caused by Botrytis cinerea I.Resistance of Perilla Cultivars and Selection of Antagonistic Bacteria
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 7 Pages
한국식물병리학회 The Plant Pathology Journal 2002, 18권 1호 7 36-42 (7 pages)
Botrytis cinerea LVF12 was evaluated, while antagonistic bacteria were selected and tested for their efficacy towards biological control of gray mold rot caused by B. cinerea. Among 11 perilla varieties tested for disease resistance, Milyang variety showed some degree of resistance, while the rest of varieties showed no resistance. Among 250 bacterial isolates collected from perilla leaves and rhizosphere of perilla plants, six isolates showed high levels of inhibitory effect on mycelial growth... -
