an HSPA9 binding assay. Two peptides showed the capability of binding to HSPA9. Dot blot assay of truncated peptides indicated that amino acid residues 19 to 22 and 245 to 252 of E protein constitute the minimal motifs required for TMUV binding to HSPA9. Importantly, peptides harboring those two minimal motifs could effectively inhibit TMUV infection. Our results provide insight into TMUV–receptor interaction, thereby creating opportunities for elucidating the mechanism of TMUV entry. -

elucidate the mechanism involved. SKF81297 (10∼100μM) perfused into an adrenal vein for 60 min produced dose- and time-dependent inhibition of CA secretory responses evoked by ACh (5.32 mM), high K+ (56 mM), DMPP (100μM) and McN-A-343 (100μM). Also, in adrenal glands loaded with SKF81297 (30μM), the CA secretory responses evoked by Bay-K-8644 (10μM), an activator of L-type Ca2+ channels and cyclopiazonic acid (10μM), an inhibitor of cytoplasmic Ca2+-ATPase were also inhibited. However, in... -

in CA secretory responses evoked by ACh (5.32 mM), high K (56 mM), DMPP (100μM) and McN-A-343 (100μM). R-()-TNPA itself did also fail to affect basal CA output. Also, in adrenal glands loaded with R-()-TNPA (30μM), the CA secretory responses evoked by Bay-K-8644 (10μM), an activator of L-type Ca2 channels and cyclopiazonic acid (10μM), an inhibitor of cytoplasmic Ca2-ATPase were also inhibited. However, S()-raclopride (1∼10μM), given into an... -

Ca2+ concentration, the amplitude of contracture increased dose dependently and was maximum at 8 mM Ca2+-Tyrode solution. 7. The relationship between extracellular Ca2+ concentrations and the magnitude of contractures showed hyperbolic pattern. The slope of straight line from Hill plot was 1.1. From the above results, it is suggested that Na+/Ca2+ exchange mechanism exists in the antral circular muscle of guinea pig stomach and this mechanism affects the membrane potential electrogenically. -

exposed to persistently changing stresses and have to be able to interpret and respond to them. The stresses, drought, salinity, chemicals, cold and hot temperatures, and various pathogen attacks have interconnected effects on plants, resulting in the disruption of protein homeostasis. Maintenance of proteins in their functional native conformations and preventing aggregation of non-native proteins are important for cell survival under stress. Heat shock proteins (HSPs) functioning as molecular... -

and activators have been developed. By employing the pharmacological tools and transgenic knock out animals, the critical role of these enzymes has been established in the pathophysiology of number of diseases including myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, stroke, neurodegeneration, inflammatory disease, respiratory diseases, retinopathy and others. The present review discusses the different aspects of these enzymes including their pathophysiological role in disease development. -

domains. This protein was also predicted to localize in the cytoplasm and endoplasmic reticulum with a probability of 66.7%. Images taken by a fluorescence microscope at different time points revealed that the DEV pUL49.5 and gM proteins were both expressed in the cytoplasm. Overlap of the two different fluorescence signals appeared 12 h after transfection and continued to persist until the end of the experiment. These data indicate a possible interaction between DEV pUL49.5 and gM. -

of caspase-1, resulting in the induction of pyroptosis and the secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines including interleukin (IL)-1β and IL-18. Although the inflammatory response is an innate host defense mechanism, chronic inflammation is the main cause of rheumatic diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis (RA), systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), ankylosing spondylitis (AS), and Sjögren’s syndrome (SS). Since rheumatic diseases are inflammatory/autoimmune disorders, it is reasonable to... -

inhibit microglial activation, the molecular mechanism is still unclear. Therefore, we investigated here molecular mechanism of DEK via extracellular signal-regulated kinase (ERK), Akt and nicotinamide adenine dinuclelotide phosphate (NADPH) oxidase-mediated pathways. In addition, the neuroprotective mechanism of DEK was investigated in microglia-mediated neurotoxicity models such as neuron-microglia co-culture and microglial conditioned media system. Our results demonstrated that treatment of... -

([Ca2+]i) increases by 0 mM [Mg2+]e in HEK293 cells and inhibited the generation of RANKL-induced Ca2+ oscillations in RAW264.7 cells. Finally, knock-down of TRPM7 suppressed RANKL-mediated osteoclastogenesis such as activation and translocation of NFATc1, formation of multinucleated cells, and the bone resorptive activity, sequentially. These results suggest that TRPM7 plays an essential role in the RANKL-induced [Ca2+]i oscillations that triggers the late stages of osteoclastogenesis.
