본 연구의 목적은 내현적 자기애가 대인관계문제에 미치는 영향을 확인하고, 자존감과 자기개념 명료성의 순차적 매개효과를 검증하는 것에 있다. 이를 위해 전국 직장인 남녀 150명씩 총 300명을 대상으로 내현적 자기애, 대인관계문제, 자존감, 자기개념 명료성 수준을 온라인 설문을 통해 조사하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS와 PROCESS Macro를 사용하여 상관분석, 다중회귀분석과 매개효과분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 내현적 자기애, 자존감, 자기개념 명료성은 개별적으로 대인관계문제와 유효한 상관관계를 나타냈으나, 다중회귀분석 결과 자존감은 대인관계 문제를 유효하게 설명하지 못했다. 둘째, 내현적 자기애와 대인관계 문제간의 관계에서 자존감의 매개효과는 유의하지 않았으나 자기개념 명료성의 매개효과는 유의하였다. 셋째, 내현적 자기애와 대인관계문제 간의 관계에서 자존감과 자기개념 명료성의 순차적 매개효과는 유의하였다. 이는 자기애로 대인관계문제의 어려움을 겪는 직장인들에게 자존감과 자기개념 명료성의 순차적 경로를 고려한 상담 개입이 필요함을 시사한다. 내현적 자기애와 대인관계문제 사이에서 변인 간의 순차적 경로를 확인하였다는 것에 본 연구의 의의가 있다.
The purpose of this study is to investigate the influence of covert narcissism on interpersonal problems and the sequential mediating effects of self-esteem and self-concept clarity. The participants were 300 adult workers consisting of 150 women and 150 men. They were asked about covert narcissism, interpersonal problems, self-esteem, and self-concept clarity via online. SPSS and PROCESS Macro were used to analyze data and correlation analysis, multiple regression, and indirect effects were conducted. The results are as follows. First, the correlations among all variables including covert narcissism, interpersonal problems, self-esteem, and self-concept clarity were significant. Covert Narcissism and self-concept clarity explained interpersonal problems whereas self-esteem failed to explain interpersonal problems. Second, self-concept clarity mediated the relationship between covert narcissism and interpersonal problems and the meditating role of self-esteem was not revealed. Third, the significant sequential mediating effect of self-esteem and self-concept clarity in the relationship between covert narcissism and interpersonal problems was revealed. These results would provide meaningful implications for intervening interpersonal problems for employees with a high level of covert narcissism. Based on the results of this study, further implications and limitations and suggestions for subsequent research were discussed.
