Attempts were made to investigate the sterol components of Coriolus versicolor (Fr.) Quel, which is one of medicinal fungi and which grows wildly in Korea.Its carpophores were collected in the Gyeong Gi Province and extracted with chloroform and methanol. Four Compounds were isolated and one of these compounds was identified as ergosterol by T.L.C., G.L.C. and chemical tests. ${eta}-Sitosterol$ appears to exist also in the carpophore.
