쥐간 마이토콘드리아 조제물을 방사성 $^{14}C$으로 표지된 인삼 사포닌($0.038;{mu}Ci$)을 포함한 $10^{-4}%$ 인삼 사포닌 용액에 방치 한 후, 마이토콘드리아의 방사능을 조사한 결과 가해준 사포닌의 약 8%가 마이토콘드리아로 침투된 것으로 관측되었고, 마이토콘드리아 조제물을 각각, 전 사포닌, diol- 사포닌, triol- 사포닌 용액에 방치하였을 때도 거의 같은 양이 침투되는 것으로 관찰 되었다. 또한 전 사포닌, diol- 사포닌, 또는 triol- 사포닌 용액에 방치 한 후, 마이토콘드리아의 monoamine oxidase, succinate dehydrogenase, malate dehyd-rogenase 등의 활성이 대조군 보다 모두 높은 것으로 보아 사포닌이 마이토콘드리아의 외막, 내막 그리고 matrix에 균등하게 분포되어 있는 것으로 생각된다.
Rat hepatic mitochondrial preparation was incubated with $10^{-4}%$ ginseng saponin solution containing $^{14}C$-labelled saponin($0.038;{mu}Ci$) and the radioactivity of the mitochondria was assayed. It was found that about 8% of the total saponin was taken up by the mitochondria. When the mitochondrial preparation was incubated with either diol or triol saponin solutions, the degree of the saponin taken up by mitochondria were almost identical, monoamine oxdiase, succinate dehydrogenase and malate dehydrogenase activities of the mitochondrial preparation, which has been incubated with total, diol or trio) saponins, were found much higher than those of control mitochondria suggesting that the saponins were evenly distributed in outermembrane, innermembrane and matrix of the mitochondria.
