Intrathoracic goiters can be classified primary and secondary. The presence of vascular stalks with cervical thyroid gland makes intrathoracic goiter secondary, while absence of it, primary. primary intrathoracic goiters, being very rare int he recent 50 year reports, are regrded to make up only 0.2 to 1 per cent of all goiters removed surgically. Authors could not find CT appearance of primary intrathoracic goiter from extensive review of literature. We recently experienced a case of intrathoracic goiter in asymptomatic kidney donor patient, and its chest X-ray, chest CT and 131l-thyroid scan appearances are presented herein.
