이화명나방(Chilo suppressalis Walker)의 Pheromone 유사물질인 Z-9-tetradecenyl formate와 Z-11-hexadecenyl formate를 이용한 교미저해효과를 구명하고자 Pheromone을 넣은 trap을 이용하여 야외에서 조사한 결과 Microencapsulation된 Formate는 30mg 산포시 처리 5일까지 교미저효과가 나타났고 Hexane으로 희석하여 Polyethylene Vial당 1mg씩 넣어 총 30mg을 처리한 경우 23일 동안 교미저해현상이 나타났다.
Z-9-tetradecenyl formate (TDF) and Z-11-hexa-decenyl formate (HDF) showed the potent inhibitory effect on mating of the striped rice borer under the fold conditions, when the compounds were evaporated in combination. 30mg application of microencapsulated formates at a ratio of 4.5 : 1 slightly inhibited the male orientation to pheromone trap for 5 days, whereas 30mg of two components in combination of 4.5 : 1 showed more than 90% inhibition of mating between both sexes for more than 23 days, when they were also permeated into the air from the polyethylene vials (1mg/vial).
