Dynamic CT was performed on one patient with cavernous hemangioma of the liver and one patient with pyogenic abscess of the liver. Preenhancement scan showed slight low density areas with poorly defined outlines in both cases. In sequential scans after injection of bolus contrast material, cavernous hemangioma showed early peripheral enhancement and slow wash-out with concomitant filling-in of the enhancement centrally. Enhanced inner margin was frond-like or corrugated. In a case of liver abscess, there was only thin marginal and septal enhancement and slow wash-out. There was no central jillin-in of the enhancement in the case of liver abscess.
