기노시다톡토기(Tomocerus kinoshitai Yosii)의 중장 상피를 구성하는 원계세포의 미세구조를 전자현미경으로 관찰하였다. 원계세포는 길이가 30~45$mu extrm{m}$, 폭 5~6$mu extrm{m}$ 정도로 긴 원주상이며, 전형적인 흡수세포의 형태로 분화되었다. 특히 mitochondria와 endoplasmic reticulum 등의 세포기관이 발달하였고, 여러 겹의 환상구조를 한 무기물 결정체들이 많이 관찰되었다. 그리고 퇴행성 mitochondria와 다양한 모양의 lysosomes, 공포들이 많이 산재해 있는 세포가 관찰되는데 이들은 첨단부원형질막이 팽대되어 장내강으로 세포돌출이 일어나는 퇴행세 포에서 많이 관찰되었다.
The columnar cells of the midgut epithelium in the Springtails, Tomocerus kinoshitai Yosii. were observed with electron microscope. The columnar cells are relatively long with 30∼45 $mu extrm{m}$ in length, 5∼6 $mu extrm{m}$ in width. The free surface of the columnar cells has a regular arry of cylindrical microvilli (the brush border) while cell membranes close to the basal lamina are extremely infolded and a lot of mitochondria are concentrated in those process. The columnar cells contain cell organelles expected to be found in absorptive cells, and some columnar cells have numerous mineral concretions. And a lot of vesicles, vacuoles and Iysosomes are seen in the cytoplasm. The lysosomes are made of several types of multivesicular bodies. The occurrence of apical cytoplasmic extrusions is considered to reflect a process of degeneration.
