The plate bucking properties of plain-knitted cotton fabrics were studied for the purpose of improving the quality of textile products. The variations of buckling and bending properties were investigated with references of the various cover factor and yarn counts. The comparison between the values of plate bucking forces predicted by pure bending tester and the values obtained by actual buckling experiments were also studied. The variations of experimental values of cycling buckling and the comparison beyound the 40% compression were also examined. The results of this study are summarized as follows ; 1) The buckling force, bending rigidity and bending moment are increased with increasing in cover factor and yarn counts. 2) The predicted formulae of buckling force suggested by Grosberg and Swani can be well applied to the plain-knitted cotton fabrics up to the extension limit. 3) The shape of cycling buckling curves after 4 cycles are in steady state and the force loaded to the fabrics is not relevant to the strain and nearly constant beyond certain limited point.
