It is well recognized that the lymph node in matastasis or tuberculosis is frequently accompanied with cen-tral necrosis or caseation necrosis but occasionally in lymphoma. We experienced 43 cases of lymphadenopathy which showed central low density on postenhanced ab-dominal CT scan from Jan. 1985 to Mar. 1987. 1. During that period 338 cases showed abdominal lymphadenopathy in CT scan. Among them 43 cases showed central low denisty on postenhanced scan(12.7%) 2. Central low density was observed in 80.0% (4/5) of tuberculosis 38.1%(8/21) of lymphoma and 10.0%(31/312) of metastasis. 3. The pattern of contrast enhancement of lymph node was divided in 5 types as thin rim thick rim eccentric low density multiple low dens:ties and septated types. Thick rim type was the most common pattern of enhancement. The pattern was variable in lymphoma. In tuberculosis only thin or thick rim type were observed. septated type was only observed in metastatic tumors.
