Nuclear fuel cycle technology is essential for a country with peaceful use of nuclear energy to establish a self-reliance in energy. More than half of the total electricity generated in korea is obtained form nuclear power pants. Among the front-end technologies, enrichment is serviced from abroad and the back-end fuel cycle is not being performed, which results in only the storage of potential energy resources. This paper provideo an overview of the front-end and back-end nuclear fuel cycle, excluding detailed technical discussions to emphasize on the subjects of the seminar.
