As the 21st century draws closer, the world is headed into an age of globalization that will entail immense changes. These waves of globalization are being pursued to enable individuals, businesses and local communities to play greater roles and take greater initiative and responsibility in meeting the challenges of the changing world. Internation education refers both to the objectives and content of certain educational pursuits and to the institutionalization of such activities. International Education as well as multicultural education is very important in terms of aspects of student and faculty exchanges, labor market, the influence of mass media etc in the age of globalization. Several tasks of International Education should be considered; build up national identity or Koreanized citizenship before international identity formation, set up open system and open policies, initial multicultural programs, and cultural autonomy. The following important tasks related to international education and cultural exchange must be considered; 1. Cultural exchanges could be implemented effectively only in a tracer study approach that will allow for proper control of other influences on cultural identity and cultural relativism. 2. international education may include such components as cultural awareness, cultural identity, human resource exchanges, and institutional linkages between Korea and other countries. 3. At national level, stratgic planning and policies must be set up to prepare for Internationalization.
