Do Korean researchers in the field of library and information science really provide practitioners with knowledge and information needed in their efforts to improve library and information servicesulcorner If so, to what degree do the researchers excercise such intellectual leadership in the professionulcorner This study is intended to seek answers to these questions. A sample of 589 administrators and librarians working in public, research and university libraries was requested to respond to the questionnaire posted in June of 1995. Data gathered from the responses were analysed to find how, for what purposes, to what degree, and what kinds of, research outputs in the profession practitioners utilize in their provision of services to users.
