콘크리트내에 있는 철근의 부식에 영향을 미치는 염소이온, 용접, 굽힘가공등을 연구할 수 있는 빠르고 간단한 방법인 갈바니 전류측정법을 개발하였다. 철근 부식에 영향을 미치는 주요 인자들에 대해 갈바니 전류측정법, 광학 및 주사전자 현미경을 사용하여 연구하였다. 현장에서 채취한 부식철근을 조사한 결과, 서로 교차하는 철근을 묶은 부분, 철근재료의 결함이 있는 곳, 용접부위에서 심한 국부부식이 관찰되었다. 또 우선적인 부식이 철근재료의 특정 미세조성 부분에서 집중적으로 일어났다. 현장채취 시편의 부식성질을 갈바니전류 측정결과와 비교하여 연구하였다.
A galvanic current measuremenl method was developed as a rapid and simple technique to study the effect of chloride concentrat~on, weldmg, and bendmg on the rtllm corrosion In con crete. Some parameters that were responsible for the corrosion of rebar were identified by using the galvanic current measurement method and optlcal and scanning electron microscopy. Examination of corroded rebars collected from the field showtld wvere. lot allzed c oirosion near grid-intersections, material defects and welded areas in concrete, and preferential corrosion attacks on certain microconstituents of the rebar material.
