The purpose of this paper is to describe the tonological correspondences of Samcheok dialect, a Gangwon dialect and Uljin dialect, a Gyongsang dialect. These two dialects gave two registers three tone system. One is Phyong-song, the plain high level tone and the other two are Chuk-song, the marked tones. One of the marked tones is Go-song, the normal low level tone, and the other is Sang-song, the high slight rising long tone. In Middle Korean and its descendents, all tone dialects, Chuk-song has a strong efficiency which neutralizes any tone that follows. Thus Middle Korean phonologists represented their marked tones with the side-dot device. In this paper I use the traditional side-dot theory without doing anything. Phyong-song is represented without any side-dot like $square$. Here $square$ stands for an optional Korean character. Go-song/Chuk-song, the marked tone, is represented with one dot like .$square$, and Sang-song, the more marked tone is represented with double dot like :$square$. Equations See Full-text
