In order to achieve single-bath level dyeing of wool/cotton blend fabric, the blend fabric was cationized by photografting of cationic monomers before dyeing. Low water content of the fabric was beneficial in terms of the grafting yield of cationic agent onto cotton. Cationization effect resulted from the grafting of the cotton component rather than the wool due to the low grafting yield of the wool. Level dyeing was accomplished by dyeing cationized blend fabric using a simple dyebath of either cotton reactive dye or wool reactive dye. The degree of level dyeing of the blend was assessed by P% which was calculated from the K/S values after soaping of the pure wool and cotton.
