도로의 가시성(Visibility)은 운전자에게 매우 중요하다. 특히 차량이 터널을 통과할 때의 가시성은 더욱 중요한데, 터널내의 조명은 운전사의 가시성에 많은 영향을 미친다. 이러한 가시성 향상을 위하여 새로운 터널조명 방식인 Counter-beam 조명이 유럽과 일본을 중심으로 최근 소개되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 터널조명 발전을 위한 새로운 접근 방법론을 제시하고 기본적인 상황에서 Counter-beam 조명의 효과를 Simulation을 통하여 분석하고 평가함으로써 그 적용 가능성을 알아본다.
Good visibility is essential for drivers. Especially it may be critical when drivers are passing through a tunnel. Lighting is one of the major factors that contribute to or detract from visibility in a tunnel. In order to enhance the visibility a new lighting technique has been proposed: counter-beam. This paper proposes a new scheme for tunnel lighting design and analyzes the counter-beam lighting technique by showing the contrast effect of it. Different situations are set and simulated. This study is expected to contribute improving the visibility in tunnels.
