New technologies are introduced to recently developed high­technology navigational instruments, and relevant international regulations, requirements and so on have thereby been developed and amended appropriately. These have to be reflected to education and/or training programs for watch officers and masters. In this connection, a syllabus of lectures for the electronic navigation system is proposed by using status analyses of navigational instruments and relevant international regulations and technologies. This can be served as a good reference and help for updating academic programs and detailed scope of examination for the issue of certificates.
