Using Ar plasama and Fe-phthalocyanine, carbon nanofibers have been synthesized at a low temperature. Fe-phthalocyanine was used as a source material for this process. The carbon nanofibers were grown in random orientation with a diameter of about 100 nm and length up to 10${mu}{ extrm}{m}$ on Si substrate. The synthesized carbon nanofibers exhibited excellent field emission characteristics. Protrusions with a nanometer size are observed at an angle of 60$^{circ}$with respect to the nanofiber axis. Furthermore, we found the selective growth of nanofibers on a scratched substrates.
