Total synthesis of biologically interesting $({pm})$-cannabichromene, $({pm})$-cannabichromenic acid, and $({pm})$-daurichromenic acid is described. The key step in the synthetic strategy involves the formation of benzopyrans by ethylenediamine diacetate-catalyzed reactions of resorcinols with $alpha$,$eta$-unsaturated aldehydes.
