본 연구에서는 급속한 도서관 환경의 변화 속에서 요구되고 있는 국내 대학도서관 사서직 계속교육 프로그램 주제를 조사하였다. 국내외 사서직 계속교육 현황을 파악하기 위해 국립중앙도서관 시행의 $2003년{sim}2006년$ 교육과정을 비교 분석하였고 미국도서관협회 및 미국연구도서관협회가 2005년도에 시행한 교육과정을 비교 분석하였다. 그리고 한국사립대학교도서관협의회 회원들을 대상으로 질문지조사를 실시하여 현직 대학도서관 사서들이 요구하는 계속교육 프로그램 주제를 분석하였다. 이들 연구 결과를 종합하여 이용자 교육, 정보검색, 전자저널 및 라이선스 등 대학도서관 사서들이 요구하는 주제분야와 더불어 지적자유, 재난기획, 대학교수진과의 협력, 프리젠테이션 및 교수기법 등 국외 사례 분석을 통해 제시된 교육과정들을 제시하였다.
The study investigated the continuing education program desirable for the academic librarian under digital circumstances. For this purpose the study investigated the education programs provided by the National Library of Korea, the American Library Association, and the Association of Research Libraries, and also undertook a questionnaire survey of academic librarians in Korea. As a result the study suggested user instruction, information retrieval, electronic licensing etc. as programs needed most by the academic librarians. And also suggested intellectual freedom, disaster planning, cooperation with faculty, presentation and teaching skill as desirable to be included in the continuing education program.
