Four known germacranolide sesquiterpene lactones, 2${alpha}$,5-epoxy-5,10-dihydroxy-6${alpha}$,-angeloy-loxy-9${eta}$-isobutyloxy-germacran-8${alpha}$,12-olide (f), 2${alpha}$,5-epoxy-5,10-dihydroxy-6${alpha}$,9${eta}$-diangeloy-loxy-germacran-8${alpha}$,12-elide (2, divaricin B), 2${alpha}$,5-epoxy-5,10-dihydroxy-6${alpha}$-angeloyloxy-9${eta}$-(2-methylbutyloxy)-germacran-8${alpha}$,12-elide (3) and 2${alpha}$,5-epoxy-5,10-dihydroxy-6${alpha}$-angeloylory-9${eta}$-(3-methylbutyloxy)-germacran-8${alpha}$, 12-elide (4), were isolated from the chloroform-soluble fraction of the whole plants of Carfesium trisfe val. manshuricum. Their chemical structures were determined using spectroscopic methods, including 2D-NMR. All the isolates showed significant cytotoxicities (ED$_{50}$ value: 4.3-16.8 ${mu}$M) against five human tumor cell lines; A549, SK-OV-3, SK-MEL-2, XF498 and HCT15.
