특수 교육을 포함한 교육 연구자와 교육 현장 종사자들이 학습전략에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있는 가운데, 우리 연구팀은 현재 미국에서 가장 널리 쓰이고 있는 학습전략 진단 질문지중 하나인 LASSI-HS(Learning and Study Strategies Inventory-High School)을 번안하여 KLASSI-HS(가제, Korean Learning and Study Strategies Inventory-High School)을 개발하였다. LASSI-HS은 시간관리, 주의 집중 등 10개의 하위 카테고리로 나뉘어져 있으며, 학습자의 현재의 학습 전략사용을 측정하여 더 나은 학습 전략을 가르치기 위한 진단 도구 등으로 널리 쓰이고 있다. LASSI-HS의 각 문항에 충실하면서도 양국의 언어적, 교육 제도적, 문화 차이를 고려하여 한국 문화에 알맞은 질문지를 개발하기 위하여, 문헌 연구, 한국 고등학교 교사와 고등학생들과의 심도 깊은 인터뷰, 두 번의 예비조사를 거쳐, 신뢰도 높은 KLASSI-HS이 완성되었다. KLASSI-HS은 현재 자신의 학습전략 사용에 있어 약점을 파악함으로써 학습에 있어 어려움을 겪는 학생들에게 도움이 될 것이며, 한국과 미국의 학생들의 학습 전략사용의 차이 등 문화 간 비교를 할 수 있는 장점이 있다.
Education researchers and educators in Korea are increasingly interested in assessing students\' learning strategies in a manner that is both culturally and educationally relevant. Our research group became interested in developing an instrument to assess Korean high school students\' learning strategies and decided to develop a Korean version of the LASSI-HS. However, there were challenges in creating a parallel form for Korea. Each item of the KLASSI-HS needed to incorporate cultural differences between the U.S. and Korea, particularly in educational practices. Keeping these aspects of language and culture differences in mind, we followed three main processes in terms of developing the KLASSI-HS: 1) Early development activities, 2) Development and evaluation of item pools, and 3) Pilot testing, field testing, and norms development.
