Antifungal activities of dieckol from the brown alga Ecklonia cava against Trichophyton rubrum (T. rubrum) were investigated. The minimum inhibitory concentration of dieckol was $200;{mu}M$. Fluorescent microscopic observation indicated that dieckol exhibited a fungicidal activity against T. rubrum due to loss of cytoplasmic membrane integrity.
