By analyzing and reviewing the Korean domestic and international electronic trade markets, this study proposes the implementation of an optimized electronic payment system to facilitate the flow of credit-based international transactions and the liquidity of funds, both essential to international business. The proposed electronic payment system offers unique benefits of versatility by focusing on the method of payment, while remaining applicable to a multitude of industries and expediency by optimizing efficiency, while meeting the business process requirements. All of the documentation necessary for the transaction may be entered through the system and post-confirmation the funds will be automatically sent through the banking system to the seller. Differentiation of this system in comparison with other systems, which is administered the funding through logistics and other cargo clearance information is that the electronic payment system only focus on payment. The simplicity coupled with the effectiveness of the optimized electronic payment system will foster increases in international trade, decreases in transaction costs and support the healthy advance payment for international credit-based transactions. Future areas of research should focus on the analysis of accumulated data from the various ongoing electronic payment systems and the associated international transactions and suggest how to be developed.
