This study is that an analysis on the trends in previous research related to disabilities. It was caused by the industrialization and urbanization as the economy grows rapidly after the Korean war and because of that, the number of a congenital and acquired with disabilities have increased significantly so is being made the continuous policy of the government as well as various efforts to ensure the zone of qualitative life for disabilities in academia, but still are inadequate to assure the quality life zone of disabilities. Therefore, this study is aimed that identify the trends of disabilities studies based on the previous studies, further recognize the need to explore every angle for development of disabilities studies and provide a basic data to suggest the following studies direction. The scope of this study were selected by drawing the 114 papers of disabilities-related from both a field of architecture and interior design and a 7,484 volumes published articles of 4 academy journals that are listed journals of NRF(National Research Foundation of Korea). The analysis item has been organized with a purpose of research, study subjects, research area, research methods and research content and the results were as follows. The purpose of this study were higher examined the frequency about suggestion, proposal and development, the study area is concentrated in Seoul and metropolitan area and the facilities for study were higher investigated the frequency of studies related to welfare facilities and education research facilities. The research methods were higher investigated the frequency of current situation survey by measured, photographing and actual conditions and the research contents were higher examined the application of universal design, the application of facilities installation standards and the degree according to installation levels and the frequency of studies that have assessed the design level.
