This article is studied concerning the historical city planning features of the old Cebu city, the first Spanish colonial town in Philippines, in comparison with city planning descriptions based on Laws of the Indies by Philip II. During the long colonization for 333 years, the Cebu city has had so many similarities with Spanish colonization policy as other Spanish colonies in South America has done. Especially, the old Cebu city also has adapted the rules of Spanish colonial town planning such as grid street pattern and centralization of main church and public buildings nearby main plaza. And I also could find out different features in that the old Cebu city has been tried by religious colonization unlike other Spanish colonial town particularly due to finding Santo Nino, a little Jesus statue and this would play a great role to make the old Cebu city unique Spanish colonial town in the world.
