패킷 손실동의 QoS(Quality of Service) 요소가 이용자가 체감하는 품질에 미치는 영향에 대한 많은 기존 연구들이 있었다. 그러나, IPTV 에 있어서는 단순한 패킷 손실 정도보다는 이러한 패킷 손실이 발생하는 위치에 따라 이용자가 체감하는 품질은 달라질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 패킷 손실에 의한 프레임의 손상 위치 및 형태가 체감 품질에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 실험을 위하여, 국내 IPTV에서 사용되는 영상 규격을 적용하여 실험 영상을 제작하였고, 주관적 품질 평가를 위하여 표준 방식인 DSCQS(Double-Stimulus Continuous Quality-Scale method)와 ACR(Absolute Category Rating) 두가지 방법을 적용하였다.
There have been much of works on the impact of QoS parameters such as packet loss, etc on the user perceived quality. However, the perceived video quality may vary according to the location of packet losses rather than the degree of packet losses in IPTV services. In this paper, we analyzed the impact of packet loss locations and patterns on the user perceived video quality. For the experiment, we made test sequences by applying the domestic standard for IPTV services. And, we used the two international standards such as DSCQS and ACR for the evaluation of subjective quality.
