이기종 정보시스템간 통합에 관한 연구는 오랫동안 진행되어온 분야이고 다양한 통합 기법 및 통합 도구들이 개발되었다. 하지만 온톨로지 통합은 데이터의 의미적 통합을 수행하는데 매우 높은 복잡성을 내재하고 있어 자동화된 통합이 쉽지 않다. 본 논문에서는 XMDR+기반의 온톨로지 통합 자동화 모델을 구현하여 자동화(automatic) 또는 반자동화(semi-automatic)로 온톨로지 통합을 진행한다. 통합 모델에 사용된 XMDR+는 국제 표준인 메타데이터 레지스트리(MDR)의 문제점을 해결하고 기능을 확장한 메타데이터 레지스트리 프레임워크이다. 본 논문에서는 기존 통합 기법들의 특징을 분석하고 문제점을 제시한다. 제안 모델인 XMDR+를 이용한 온톨로지 통합 모델 구현을 통해 기존 통합 문제점들을 해결하고 XMDR+가 온톨로지와 메타데이터간 사상 관계를 명확히 정의하였음을 확인한다.
Researches on the integration of heterogeneous information systems have been in progress for a long time and a variety of integration methods and tools have been developed. However, it is difficult to integrate automatically ontology information for the semantic integration of data because of very high complexity. In this paper, we make progress on automatic or semi-automatic integration of ontologies by developing the automated ontology integration model. The XMDR+ used in this integration model is an extended framework of a metadata registry to solve problems of international standards of a metadata registry. In this paper, we present the analysis of the characteristics and problems of the existing integration methods. We solve the existing integration issues through the implementation of an ontology integration model using XMDR+ and make sure that XMDR+ clearly defines mapping relationship between ontologies and metadata.
