사람들은 목적지까지 빠르고 정확하게 도달하기 위해 네비게이션을 사용한다. 그러나 목적지 검색에서 네비게이션이 사용자가 원하는 결과를 출력하지 못해 문제가 되는 경우가 많다. 목적지 검색 결과의 재현율과 정확률을 떨어뜨리는 가장 큰 이유는 사용자가 데이터베이스에 저장된 목적지의 명칭을 정확하게 알지 못하기 때문이다. 본 논문에서는 POI 데이터 검색의 재현율과 정확률을 높이기 위하여 추정과 블록이라는 개념에 기반한 문자열 유사도 측정 기법을 제안한다. 실험 결과, 본 논문에서 제시하는 기법이 모든 POI 데이터에 대한 검색 재현율과 정확률을 상당수준 향상시켰음을 알 수 있었다.
People take advantage of navigations in order to arrive at destination quickly and accurately. It happens frequently, however, that the user cannot acquire the correct retrieval result in the destination retrieval stage. Most of the retrieval failures result from the false queries which are mainly due to the situation that the users can not exactly memorize the correct names of the destinations stored in the database. In this paper, a novel method for measuring POI string similarity based on the concept of presumption and matching block is proposed in order to enhance the recall and precision of POI retrieval. From the experimental data, by using the proposed method, the recall and precision of the POI retrieval are remarkably enhanced than those of the existing retrieval methods.
