국문초록

이 연구의 목적은 초등학생의 학업적응에 영향을 미치는 요인을 밝혀 학생들의 학습내용에 대한 이해와 수업 적응력을 높이는 데 있다. 학업적응을 종속변수로 하여 학년이 높아짐에 따라 차이가 있 는지 알아보고 학생의 개인 및 가정 변인, 시간활용 변인, 학교생활 변인이 학업적응에 어떤 영향을 미치는지 분석하였으며, 특히 학교생활 변인의 영향력을 검증하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정 책연구원(NYPI)의 한국아동․청소년패널조사(KCYPS) 초등학교 1학년 패널 1,551명, 4학년 패널 1,694 명의 1~3차년도 자료를 분석대상으로 활용하였으며, F 검정과 위계적 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 이 연구의 결과, 첫째, 학년이 높아질수록 초등학생들은 자신의 학업적응을 낮게 인식하는 것으로 나타났고, 둘째, 위계적 회귀분석을 시행한 결과, 학업적응에 대한 개인 및 가정 요인의 영향력이 미미 하게 나타났다. 셋째, 시간활용 요인에서는 독서 시간의 영향력이 1학년을 제외한 모든 학년에서 유의 하게 나타났으며, 넷째, 학교생활 요인이 학업적응을 예측하는 설명력이 높게 나타났다. 이러한 분석결 과를 바탕으로 아동기 학업적응을 높이기 위해서 발달단계 혹은 학년 차이를 고려한 지원, 독서환경 조 성, 교사와 학교행정가의 지도력 발휘 및 학교공동체 협력의 중요성을 제시하였다.

영문초록

This study investigates factors that would influence elementary student’s academic adjustment. Specifically, this study examined relationships among school grade, students’ characteristics, family background, time utilization, school activity over academic adjustment. For this study, quantitative data from NYPI’s KCYPS was used. The database was taken each following 3 years with panels composed of 1,551 1st grade students and 1,694 4th grade students. SPSS 19.0 was used to conduct F-test and hierarchical linear regression analysis. Results suggested as follows: First, as the students’ grade goes up, elementary students showed lower perception of their academic adjustment. Second, the hierarchical linear regression analysis result indicated insignificant influence of individual student and their family background variable over academic adjustment. Third, excluding 1st grade students, all other grade students’ reading time in time utilization variable was statistically significant. Forth, school activity variable showed the highest explanation over academic adjustment. These findings highlights the importance of development stage of school grade difference, reading environment, school administrators and teacher’s leadership and support of the school community.
