The purpose of this study was to investigate about life satisfaction rates and depression according to alcohol dependence on among the elderly living in a agricultural areas. The subjects of this study were 150 elderly citizens. They were assessed for general characteristics, AUDIT-K, life satisfaction rates and depression. The data was analysis analyzed by t-test and ANOVA using PASW 18.0. The results were as follows: 1) life satisfaction rates is showed a significant difference between drinkers and non-drinkers (t=-8.418, p=.000). 2) Depression rates is showed a significant difference between drinkers and non-drinkers (t=8.679, p=.000). 3) Life satisfaction rates according to alcohol dependence is showed a significant difference for inter-group comparison (F=52.240, p=.000). 4) Depression according to alcohol dependence is showed a significant difference for inter-group comparison (F=65.272, p=.000). Life satisfaction rates and depression is affected according to alcohol dependence on for the elderly. The lower a the alcohol dependence, the higher the life satisfaction rate and the higher a the alcohol dependence, the higher the depression rate.
