In the restructuring process of the national university, in-depth discussions
and studies are being conducted on the overall educational goals and curriculum
for the characterization of the department (major). Department of Arts & design
department (major) curriculum is being operated in a privately situation.
Excessively fragmented design department (major) curriculum of studies that relate
convergence ‧ organic compound is needed.
This study analyzes the theory of A college curriculum that has served
researchers then analyzed the curricula, research and design related subjects
outlined the status of departments in Korea, after the initiative was proposed for
the fusion curriculum. Detailed curriculum theory and curriculum established
research analyzes the current situation and proposes a convergence theoretical
curriculum. Research contents are as follows: 1) the restructuring of university
education and arts, 2) status of the design department curriculum, 3) convergence
theoretical Korea University of art and design education status and suggestions
proposed by 15 universities from Seoul ‧ Gyeonggi province. After that A
university's convergence curriculum that researchers is proposed.
Such convergence education should be conducted sequentially based on a
solid basic education. Art and design, design management, design and engineering,
design, culture and society, design and psychology, etc. can be applied in various
ways depending on the characteristics of each universities major. It will be
necessary to develop a converged curriculum to meet the expectation of Korea.
Fusion research, such as humanities, natural sciences and engineering, will be
studied in the view of interdisciplinary-multidisciplinary-transdisciplinary researches
at the same time during the digital age.
