본 연구의 목표는 사회정서학습 프로그램이 학생들의 개인적 사회정서역량을 높여주고 학급의 공동 체의식을 높여주는 지를 검증해 보는 것이다. 이를 위해 B광역시 초등학교 5학년 한 학급 27명을 대 상으로 3개월간 11차시에 걸쳐 사회정서학습 프로그램을 실시하였다. 사회정서학습 프로그램은 국외 의 효과성과 타당성이 입증된 Strong Kids, PATHS, 비폭력대화에 근거하여 재조직하였으며 담임교사 와 교육공학 박사과정 연구원 2명의 팀티칭으로 진행되었다. 본 연구는 사회정서학습 프로그램 효과 성에 대한 풍부한 자료의 습득을 위한 양적연구 자료와 질적연구 자료를 함께 사용하는 혼합방법연 구를 실시하였다. 양적자료 획득을 위해 사회정서역량 검사와 공동체의식 검사를 프로그램 실시 전 후에 실시하였고 이를 대응표본 t검증을 통해 차이검증을 실시하였다. 질적 자료로서 교사면담, 학생 면담, 학생의 개방형 설문결과 및 감정일기에 대한 자료를 습득하여 내용분석법에 따라 전사하고 코 딩한 후 유목화하여 수업 맥락 내에서 의미 있는 정보를 도출하였다. 연구결과 양적 및 질적 자료 모두에서 사회정서역량과 공동체의식의 유의미한 변화가 나타났으며 이에 대한 시사점을 논의하였 다.
The purpose of the study is to explore the effects of social and emotional learning program on the social and emotional competencies of elementary school students and their community consciousness. A total of 27 elementary school students participated as subjects. The SEL program was reorganized based on the following verified programs; Strong Kids, PATHS, NVC which validity was proved already. The SEL program was conducted by team teaching of one homeroom teacher and two researchers who are doctoral candidates. The study used the mixed methods research to obtain fluent data of the effectiveness of the SEL program. To obtain quantitative data, Social and emotional competency and community consciousness inventories were administrated before and after the SEL program and the gap was verified by t-test. To obtain qualitative data, teacher interview, students interview, open questionnaires, and emotional journal were administrated and analyzed using contents analysis. The result shows that both Social and emotional competencies and community consciousness were improved significantly, and implications were discussed.
