본 연구는 최근 가속화되고 있는 한국의 다문화현상에 대응할 수 있는 다문화사회복 지교육을 대학의 사회복지교육과정으로 시행하기 위한 방안을 제시하고자 수행되었다. 이를 위하여 다문화교육의 이론을 고찰하고, 국내외 선행연구를 통하여 대학의 다문화 교육의 필요성에 대한 사례 및 이와 관련한 우리나라의 제도와 법제를 고찰하였다. 우리나라에서 대학의 다문화사회복지 실천을 위한 역량강화를 위한 사회복지교육과 정은 비법정 교과목으로 2008년부터 개설되어 운영되어 왔다. 본 연구에서는 다문화사 회복지교과목을 법정 전공 선택 교과목으로 개설하여 사회복지교육과정에 포함할 것과 사회복지현장실습에서 다문화교육실습을 병행할 것을 제언하였으며, 미디어를 활용한 다문화사회복지교육 모델을 제시하고, 다문화교육의 활성화를 위한 관련 법률의 정비와 다문화관련 기관들과의 연계를 통하여 사회복지실천영역을 활성화 할 수 있는 다문화융 합교육 모델을 개발하여 보급해야 함을 제언하였다.
The purpose of this study is to suggest some points for discussion and plans in applying multicultural social welfare education to the social welfare curriculum at a college level to cope with the recently accelerated multicultural phenomenon in South Korea. For this purpose, not only the theories of multicultural education but all so literature concerning the cases related to the need of multicultural education at a college level and the relevant systems or legislations of South Korea were reviewed. It is needed to provide the subject of multicultural social welfare, which has been managed as a non-statutory subject in the social welfare curriculum since 2008, as a statutory optional subject, include it in the social welfare curriculum, and to practice multicultural education as well in practicing social welfare with the objective of reinforcing capacity for multicultural practice in the social welfare curriculum at a college. It is also necessary to use multicultural media to present convergence education models of multicultural social welfare education for immigrants and foreign residents, revise relevant legislations for activating multicultural education, and develop and distribute multicultural convergence education models for activating the practical area of social welfare through association with multicultural institutions.
