본 연구의 목적은 학술지 『교육학연구』에 나타난 학부모 연구의 연구주제 및 연구방법 동향을 살펴보는 데 있다. 연구목적을 수행하기 위하여 한국교육학회의 학술지 『교육학연구』에 게재된 학 부모 관련 논문 73편의 연구주제와 연구방법을 분석하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연구주제 로는 학부모 문화나 학습환경으로서 학부모의 특성에 관한 것이 많았다. 학부모 정책(제도)이나 학부 모 교육(프로그램)에 관한 주제는 극히 드물었다. 둘째, 연구방법으로는 양적 연구가 가장 많았으며, 그 다음으로는 문헌연구, 질적연구, 통합연구 순으로 나타났다. 문헌연구는 2000년대를 기점으로 급 격히 감소된 반면, 양적연구는 지속적으로 증가하는 양상을 보였다. 전반적으로 『교육학연구』에 게 재된 학부모 연구는 특정 주제나 연구방법에 편중되는 경향을 보였으며, 어머니 담론이나 학교교육 담론에 갇히는 한계를 보였다. 이러한 연구 결과는 학부모 연구가 다양한 주제나 연구방법으로 학부 모에게 접근할 필요 뿐 아니라 어머니 담론이나 학교교육 담론을 넘어설 필요가 있음을 시사한다.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the trends in research on parents. For the analysis, the research themes and research methods are examined using 73 articles on parents published in Korean Journal of Educational Research. The results of the study can be summarized as follows: First, the research themes on the culture of parents or the characteristics of parents as an educational environment occupy a dominant part while on parents policy (system) or parents education (program) are extremely rare. Second, it showed that the quantitative research method is the most common and in the order of literature method, qualitative research method, and integrated one. It is notable that the number of articles based on the literature research method has decreased drastically while the number of quantitative research method tends to increase since 2000s. Generally the researches on parents tend to focus on the specific themes or methods. And also they are limited to the discourse on mothers or on school education. The results of this study suggest that the research themes and methods need to be applied for the parents in various way. Moreover, the researches on parents need to overcome the limit of the discourse on mothers or on school education.
