본 논문은 서구에서 개발된 가족치료의 한국적 적용을 위한 한국가족치료학계의 연구적 노력을 고 찰하기 위해 가족치료관련 학회지에 게재된 논문 중에서 가족치료의 한국적 적용을 다룬 29편의 논문 을 선정하여 연구주제에 따라 문헌분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과, 분석대상 연구들은 크게 1. 가족치료 의 한국적 적용을 위한 기초연구 2. 한국문화를 고려한 일반적 임상제언 3. 개별가족치료모델의 한국 적 적용을 위한 연구라는 대주제로 분류되었다. ‘가족치료의 한국적 적용을 위한 기초연구’의 대주제 는 다시 (1) 문제의식의 태동 (2) 전통적 문제해결방식에 대한 고찰 (3) 비교문화 개념을 중심으로 한 연구 (4) 실증적 접근의 소주제로 분류되었다. ‘개별가족치료모델의 한국적 적용을 위한 연구’의 대주 제는 개별모델들이 가지는 강점과 제한점을 중심으로 상세하게 논의되었다. 고찰된 연구들은 주로 문 헌연구를 통해 한국가족의 문화적 특성을 파악하고 그에 따른 임상적 제언들을 제공하였다는 점에서 유의미한 성과를 남겼다고 평가된다. 본 논문은 이러한 고찰을 토대로 문화이해와 임상실천과 관련한 이슈들을 논의한 후, 한국적 가족치료의 계속된 발전을 위해 필요하다고 사료되는 향후 연구에 대해 제언하였다.
Objectives: This study reviewed the literature on the application of western-developed family therapy in Korea. Methods: The review identified three large categories of studies: theoretical studies of Korean family and culture, clinical recommendations, and research on family therapy models. The theoretical studies of Korean family and culture were categorized into four subjects: (1) pioneer studies, (2) studies of Korean traditional problem-solving methods, (3) application of sociocultural concepts to Korean culture, and (4) empirical studies of Korean culture and family. Results: Although the reviewed studies have contributed to the knowledge of Korean culture and family, most studies have depended primarily on the authors’ subjective, and thus arbitrary, interpretation and judgments. This reveals a need for more objective, systematic studies in the future. Conclusions: The authors proposed several types of future studies to help ensure continual improvement of culturally-tailored family therapy in Korea.
