본 연구는 국립교육박물관 건립의 당위성과 추진 방안 등을 검토하였다. 먼저 국립교육박물관 건립의 필요성을 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 대한민국에는 국립중앙박물관외 28여개의 각종 국립박물 관1)이 있지만, 교육문화를 종합적으로 관리하는 국립교육박물관이 없다는 사실은 매우 부끄러운 일이다. 교육문화유산을 수집․보존․전시․연구 등의 임무는 국가의 책무이므로 국립교육박물관 은 반드시 건립되어야 한다. 국립교육박물관 건립 예비 타당성을 검토한 결과는 다음과 같다. 국립교육박물관을 신축하기보 다는 ‘한국교원대학교 교육박물관’을 국립교육박물관으로 승격하는 것이 바람직하다고 생각한다. 왜냐하면 대한민국 교육전문박물관 중 최대 규모와 시설을 갖춘 한국교원대학교 교육박물관은 입 지 환경 등 여러 제반여건이 매우 양호하다. 나아가 소요 기간 단축 및 예산 절감, 유물 확보, 기타 여러 가지 측면에서도 한국교원대학교 교육박물관 국립 승격은 충분히 검토하여 볼 가치가 있다고 그러나 한국교원대학교 교육박물관 승격 추진절차와 과정은 순탄 지는 않을 것으로 생각한다. 즉 한국교원대학교와 교육부 간의 협의, 정부 부처 간의 협의, 국회 승인 등의 여러 가지 어려운 점이 있을 것으로 생각한다. 하지만 국립교육박물관 건립은 현 시대를 살아가고 있는 우리들의 책 무이기 때문에 반드시 실현되어야 한다.

Moreover, it takes time to market and budget costs, remains secure, and many other things in terms of the promotion of the National Museum of Korea National University of Education determines that enough is worth review. However, Korea National University of Education Museum promoted promotion procedures and processes are thought unlikely to be smooth. That is thought to be negotiated between the Korea National University of Education and the Ministry of Education, in consultation between government departments, several difficulties of parliamentary approval. However, the National Education Museum is built must be achieved because it is our obligation to live in the present age.
