The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a self‐growth camp program on self-growth
in pre-service practitioners of integrated education of children with disabilities and to provide basic
information for cultivating the human quality of integrated education practitioners. The subjects of this
study were 70 students of N University in G City majoring in Early Childhood Education, Early
Childhood Special Education, Elementary Special Education, Social Welfare, or Speech-Language Pathology
and Audiology. They participated in the self-growth camp program for three days from the 3rd to 5th of
February in 2015 and answered a questionnaire survey. Of the recovered questionnaires, 57 were used as
valid data for analysis. Collected data were analyzed through paired‐sample t-test. According to the
results of this study, the self-growth camp program had a significant positive effect on self-understanding,
understanding of others, self-acceptance, acceptance of others, and self-openness in pre-service practitioners
of integrated education of children with disabilities, so it was effective in promoting self-growth. Based on
this finding, this study made suggestions of practice and policies for cultivating the human quality of
pre-service integrated education practitioners.
