Torrefaction is a mild pyrolysis that improves the fuel properties. Food waste, one of the common wastes in developed countries is investigated to evaluate the potential of wastes as solid fuel. This work studies the changes in physical appearances, energy yield, and gas emissions with respect to torrefaction temperature ranging from 150 to 600℃ with 50℃ interval at 10℃/min of heating rate. The energy yield was obtained over 90% at temperature of 300℃. Further, in order to study the physical changes with respect to holding time, torrefaction was carried out at holding time of 0-50 min at interval of 10 min.
