Several operating conditions have been investigated in a 9.6 ton/day commercial scale waste pyrolysis and melting system. Optimization of burner capacity in melting furnace is one of the significant factors for proper melting of residues. Separation of metallic and incombustible materials which can cause serious troubles in discharge of molten slag is also important operating parameter. Reducing of fuel addition is another critical parameter for commercialization of the facility. So, the pressure of the melting furnace is maintained as close to the level of atmosphere to minimize the heat loss by draught.
